UI DESIGN

As in any task, designing the right solution is the key to a useful and productive application. SAI has designers on staff with varied expertise in web interfaces, UI portals and application GUIs that can help you reach your business goals whether they be for your external customers or your internal associates.

INTERACTION

The real expertise in crafting the right user experience is to understand the business goals and objectives and translate them into a user flow for the maximum benefit of both the customer and the owner. Ensuring that the user interaction with the site is fruitful is accomplished by a tapestry of services and best practices such as Usability, Accessibility, etc.

ELEMENTS OF UE

SAI focuses on the 4 pillars of UE:

  1. Branding: A memorable and branded user experience.
  2. Usability: Easy for the user to accomplish what they need to.
  3. Content: The right mix of static, dynamic and interactive flow.
  4. Functionality: Simple, elegant and complete, using Web2.0 principles and Rich Internet Applications

PORTALS

SAI also works with any enterprise portal software to provide further expertise. We have worked to develop User experiences using social networking and portal software such as SharePoint. Web 2.0 and social networking has become more prevalent and something that is expected by the user and clients as it provides the maximum “stickiness” for customers and allows them to engage with the website or UI. Clients also are able to glean more knowledge and information from sites where there is a varied exchange of ideas, concepts and explanations (though they may be moderated).

MEASUREMENT

SAI has identified that another key tenet of all the UE interactions are the ability to comprehensively measure those interactions with the user and utilize them to further refine our interactions with the user. We can identify whether we are effectively meeting the goals and objectives of the business and the needs of the user.

CASE STUDY: Energy and Utilities Portal

SAI provided the key resources to build a portal based on MS SharePoint technology that has been used by multiple clients in the Energy and Utilities market place. This portal allows these firms to satisfy their customers needs online and reduces user frustration, and expenses (such as call center expenses and processing costs).
